As part of the Independent Map Amendment campaign, AARP Illinois is backing a proposed constitutional amendment that would make the process of drawing legislative districts nonpartisan and transparent.

AARP New Mexico invites baseball fans to join in an evening of fun on Friday, June 3, AARP Day at the Ballpark, when the Albuquerque Isotopes take on the Fresno Grizzlies at Isotopes Park. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m.

A new rule in Utah requires hospitals to work closely with family caregivers. The Patient Designated Caregiver Rule, proposed by AARP Utah and issued by the state Department of Health, allows each patient to designate a caregiver, whom the hospital must notify when the patient is released. In addition, hospitals will give caregivers instructions about follow-up care, such as managing medications.

California lawmakers are considering whether to increase exemptions for bankruptcy debtors to allow individuals and families a better chance of keeping their homes and to give small-business owners a stronger chance of recovery.

Using a blueprint approved in 2015, the city and county of Honolulu are beginning to address the needs of Oahu’s rapidly aging population. The Honolulu Age-Friendly City Action Plan sets the stage to improve daily life for older adults. It recommends ways to improve outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, communication and social involvement, civic participation and employment, and community support and health services.

AARP Michigan is teaming up with the city of Grand Rapids to foster the health and happiness of its aging population.
