Per the National Council on Aging, every 13 seconds an older adult is seen in an ER for a fall related injury, and 1 in 3 older Americans falls every year. Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and non-fatal injuries for persons aged 65 and older. Even minor falls can be problematic when they instill a fear of falling, making it difficult for elders to stay active, sometimes leading to depression.

As one of the few nonprofits recognized, this is the first year AARP is named among OMNIKAL’s (formerly DiversityBusiness.com) list of the top 50 companies in America for multicultural inclusion in the marketplace.

The Colorado Rockies major league baseball team is offering AARP members and their guests discount admission to two games at Coors Field in Denver—on Sunday, May 28, when the Rockies take on the St. Louis Cardinals, and Sunday, Aug. 20, when the Milwaukee Brewers come to town. The first pitch for both games will be at 1:10 p.m.
