On October 8, 2025, the US Virgin Islands proudly stepped into a new chapter of inclusivity, making history in the pursuit of equality for the LGBTQ+ community. Governor Albert Bryan Jr. signed Executive Order No. 543-2025, establishing a formal process for Virgin Islanders to request updates to the gender marker on their official identification documents, including birth certificates and driver’s licenses.
