LAS VEGAS, Nev. – AARP Nevada announced today that Wayne Leroy has been named to a two-year term as State President as part of the organization’s volunteer Executive Council board. Leroy is the 2005 AARP Dr. Ethel Andrus Award winner, given annually to an exemplary community-focused volunteer, and has been a member of the organization’s Executive Council since 2013.

Voters age 50 and older were the deciding factor in last year’s midterm elections, according to the National Election Pool Exit Poll results. The findings confirmed that 50-plus voters made up the majority of voters 62% in Ohio and 56 percent nationally. Candidates who ignored older voters, Ohio’s most powerful voting group, paid a price on Election Day.
