To help Texas combat the COVID-19 healthcare crisis and to improve health outcomes for older persons, AARP Texas has called on Governor Greg Abbott to bolster health coverage statewide by seeking a temporary expansion of Medicaid.

The Coalition for Silver Solutions, a coalition of senior care providers, labor and consumer organizations, succeeded in getting legislative approval for key initiatives to improve how Florida’s 2-million-plus frail elders receive supportive care.

One of our priorities is supporting members who are interested in working on issues important to those 50-plus, such as caregiving, prescription drug coverage, and fraud protection at the state level. In addition to our ongoing work at the federal level (Social Security, Medicare, and prescription drug prices), we are also looking at what work we can do at the local level to make your community a better place for you and all.
