A new web page developed by AARP Oklahoma and News on 6 points the way to resources that can help family caregivers in the northeastern part of the state.

If you are raising a grandchild or another relative’s child, you are not alone. Millions of grandparents and other relatives are raising children. AARP has a wonderful Guide for GrandFamilies that can help you find your way with tips, tools and resources to the services and support you need to take care of yourself and your family. For additional help we’ve compiled a list of additional and some local resources.

The threat posed by Hurricane Harvey remains extreme, and Texans should continue to heed the warnings of local officials and emergency personnel. The safety and security of everyone is a top priority for AARP.

AARP Mississippi is inviting all veterans in the area to attend the AARP Veterans Town Hall on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The free event will be held at the Richland Community Center, 410 East Harper St. in Richland, MS. Veterans may bring one guest. Lunch will be served.
