The annual Women 4 Wellness health fair, credited with saving lives, will offer more than 30 screenings this year, helping Flathead Indian tribal members and other women in Lake County detect conditions ranging from breast cancer and diabetes to heart disease and thyroid problems. AARP Montana is cosponsoring the event on Thursday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.

That’s why AARP Tennessee has joined a coalition developing Senior Ride Nashville, an assisted ride service that will provide affordable transportation for residents 60 and older. Clients will pay a small annual membership fee and prepay for low-cost rides.
East Lansing is the fourth Michigan city to join the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. The city is drafting a plan to make the city more livable, with accessible transportation and housing, walkable streets and other quality-of-life improvements.
AARP Kansas has opened a new office in Wichita, where members can learn more about AARP and take classes on topics such as financial security and preventing fraud.
