AARP Alabama is very pleased to announce that Mike and Jane Moore of Tuscumbia are the recipients of the 2015 Andrus Award for Service. This prestigious annual award is based on the Moores' remarkable body of work as volunteers with AARP, and with their church and other community organizations.

LOS ANGELES— Attorney General Kamala D. Harris today announced a new collaboration between the Office of the Attorney General and AARP California to protect seniors from abuse and fraud. The collaboration will focus on educating seniors, their families and the general public about elder abuse and fraud laws designed specifically to protect those who are 50 and over.

Combating fraud is a priority for AARP New York, which represents approximately 750,000 members age 50-plus in the five boroughs of New York City. In a 2014 report, AARP New York found that identity theft or credit card fraud had impacted roughly one-fifth to one-fourth of 50+ voters in New York City, and 75% are concerned with becoming a victim of identity theft, which was tops among all types of fraud.
