AARP Ohio recognized its 2023 Andrus Award honoree and 16 outstanding AARP volunteers Nov. 1

AARP Kentucky announces Gary W. Adkins as its incoming Volunteer State President. His term as Volunteer State President begins January 1, 2024.

Sara Barsel has been awarded the 2023 AARP Andrus Award for Community Service for Minnesota. The annual award is AARP’s most prestigious and visible volunteer award. It recognizes individuals who are sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich their communities in ways that are consistent with AARP’s purpose and vision. Their commitment to volunteer service embodies AARP's founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, belief in the power of ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

(Jackson, MS) – June Duffour has been selected by AARP, the nonprofit organization for people 50 and older, to receive the 2023 AARP Mississippi Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award for community service.

November is Family Caregiving Month. Did you know there are 80,000 family caregivers in South Dakota and a majority of them also work while providing care for a loved one?

When AARP Vermont volunteer David Cawley retired five years ago, he suddenly had a lot more time to walk his neighborhood in Burlington. These strolls—along with time spent researching local history—led Cawley to cofound the Old East End Neighborhood Coalition, a community improvement group.

AARP’s founder Dr. Ethyl Percy Andrus once characterized AARP’s work on behalf of older Americans, “to serve, not to be served.”

There are many ways to get involved as an AARP Maryland volunteer -- staff tables, organize events, host anti-fraud workshops and greet guests at free movie nights.
