This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

Encore Creativity for Older Adults, the nation’s largest choral program for singers 55 plus, is pleased to introduce a chorus for those diagnosed with early or beginning moderate Alzheimer’s and other memory impairments. The “Sentimental Journey Singers” is fifteen-week set to begin Monday, September 9, 2019, rehearsals will be from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at Insight Memory Care Center at 3953 Pender Drive, Suite 100, Fairfax, VA.
The Community Center of Abingdon, serving all of Washington County, Virginia would like to extend an invitation to participate in its new fundraiser campaign "Have a Heart" to increase funding for the Meals on Wheels program on behalf of your loved one. Included with your donation is a gift card (pictured on left) that you can give to your loved one showing your donation on their behalf.
Stand Up for Yourself and Your Community: How to Avoid Scams
AARP Virginia is sponsoring Grandparents' Day at the Virginia Museum of Transportation from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Spend a fun-filled afternoon with your grandchild and enjoy free ice cream, face painting, and gifts for the children from AARP Virginia while supplies last, and grandparents receive free entry. Take a ride with your grandchild on a Vintage Diesel Train, only $3 per person with general admission and tour the Roanoke Valley Model Engineer's open house.
