Vienna, VA – Leadership Fairfax (LFI) is currently accepting applications for the fall 2015 Lifetime Leadership Program (LLP.) This two month tuition based program is for the newly retired, or those close to retirement, that are seeking to utilize their knowledge and leadership to make significant contributions to the Fairfax County community. It is based on the belief that people in the second half of life can offer a wealth of experience, talent, and vitality to community initiatives, while enriching and expanding their own lives.

CHRISTIANSBURG_AARP has reserved the private room at Golden Corral for members and their guests to enjoy dinner with a $0.50 discount on their All-You-Care-to-Eat dinner buffet.

AARP Virginia and the Organization of Chinese American Women (OCAW) will host a special event featuring local author Veronica Li as she discusses her new book, Confucius Says; a novel about caring for elderly parents based on the author’s own experience. When the pressure of caregiving became overwhelming, she found guidance from an unexpected source: the teachings of the ancient sage Confucius. Enlightened by his wisdom, she finds the courage to go on.

Roanoke _ The need for Meals on Wheels continues to grow rapidly in the Roanoke Valley. More routes have been added and thus more volunteers are needed to fill these routes. It takes 40 volunteers every day to deliver meals to 600 homebound seniors in our community.

Pack your picnic basket, put on your dancing shoes and join us for a night of music under the stars as AARP in Los Angeles teams up with the Grand Performances Concert Series in downtown L.A.
