AARP TEK began with hands-on workshops in select cities across the country to help the 50-plus audience embrace mobile technology to live their best lives. To increase our impact we recently launched AARP TEK Academy, a free, easy-to-use online learning site at www.aarptek.org .
AARP Arizona is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Martinez of Gilbert to serve as AARP State President. In this volunteer role, Martinez will lead the nonprofit organization’s network of more than 100 Arizona volunteers and work closely with staff. He will also act as a lead spokesperson on national and state AARP issues in Arizona that are important to people 50+.
AARP Phoenix was a participating partner in an Inter-Generational Fitness Day July 20 at Pecos Community Center in Phoenix where over 100 kids and older adults jointly participated in fun and interactive sessions.

WASHINGTON, DC — Family caregivers in Arizona provided 749 million hours of care—worth an estimated $9.4 billion to their parents, spouses, partners, and other adult loved ones in 2013, according to AARP Public Policy Institute’s new report, Valuing the Invaluable: 2015 Update.
What began as a novel idea to help people 50+ engage and meet new people in their local area has flourished in the name of AARP’s Tucson Community Groups. Celebrating their second year with 300 people on their roster, the volunteer-led groups meet bi-weekly where members socialize and learn new things.
AARP volunteers from Prescott and Prescott Valley helped sort food at the Yavapai County Food Bank that was donated during the recent National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) annual Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive . This year held on May 9, the annual food collection effort is the largest one-day food drive in the country in which letter carriers nationwide collect donations made by postal customers.
