Bike lanes on city streets helped put Washington, D.C., on AARP’s list of the 10 most livable cities in the country last spring. As part of continuing efforts to make the District more livable, AARP DC is helping Washington become an age-friendly city, as defined by the World Health Organization and the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. Ron Swanda, a member of the AARP DC executive council, serves on the mayor’s Age-Friendly DC task force, and invites citizens to get involved.
