At least 70 percent of Americans 65 and older will need long-term care services at some point in their lives, and that can be expensive.
The median income in Alabama is among the lowest in the nation, and that attracts predatory lenders. Such lenders take advantage of low-income people’s desperate needs for quick cash to buy food or pay rent by offering loans at sky-high interest rates.
Chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol can lead to serious, painful and costly complications. But with preventive care, Virgin Islanders can detect problems early and make lifestyle changes to avoid bigger problems later on.
