AARP Oklahoma, state Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak (R) and KJRH-TV, an NBC affiliate, are hosting a shredding event April 15 to help prevent identity theft.

As part of its efforts to improve retirement security for Iowans, AARP is sponsoring several events during Money Smart Week, April 18-25.

To celebrate the state launch of the Fraud Watch Network, AARP Hawaii is hosting a tele-town hall on April 18 at 9 a.m. Experts leading the event will reveal top scams in the islands, as reported to the Better Business Bureau, and will unveil new research findings about behaviors that leave consumers in Hawaii vulnerable to fraud.

The long stretch of old mills lining the Merrimack River in Manchester makes it clear something big went on here. But did you know these mills, started in the 1830s, became one of the world’s largest textile manufacturing plants? Or that Native Americans fished upriver 11,000 years ago?

The AARP Information Center in Omaha is offering classes for people who want to get comfortable with using a computer or tablet to send email and navigate the Internet.
