AARP New York is excited to present Flavors of Spain, a three‑part virtual cooking experience led by Chef Stephen Forman, a Certified Executive Chef, educator, and mentor with more than 30 years of culinary and professional kitchen experience. This series invites participants to explore Spain’s vibrant food culture — from iconic dishes to regional traditions — all through live, interactive instruction.
On June 14 the New York City Council voted to adopt the Fiscal Year 2023 New York City Budget, which invests in support and services for older adults with funding for home-delivered meals, geriatric mental health care, and an overall increase in the Department for the Aging (DFTA) budget.
The arrears reduction program will provide $250 million in immediate relief to ratepayers behind on their bills that are enrolled in their utility’s energy assistance program.AARP New York and the Public Utility Law Project (“PULP”) today applauded the creation of an arrears reduction program to help New Yorkers behind on their energy bills. The order from the New York State Public Service Commission follows a budget allocation by Governor Hochul and the State Legislature of $250 million to pay down residential electric and gas utility arrears statewide, including on Long Island. Funds will be dispersed no later than August 1, 2022.
