RALEIGH - For more than 40 years, the laws regulating some of the most highly-trained healthcare providers in North Carolina have remained unchanged. With today’s introduction of the SAVE Act, legislators hope to modernize healthcare by removing outdated and unnecessary restrictions on Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

Age-Friendly Network members work toward becoming vibrant and welcoming for people of all ages through a continuous cycle of improvement in specific areas of design and sustainability. These areas promote health and quality of life for older adults and benefit all those in the community. An early step in the process of becoming an Age-Friendly Community is assessing Guilford County’s needs and priorities in those key areas.

WASHINGTON -- To better educate veterans and their family caregivers, AARP enthusiastically endorses a bipartisan bill, H.R. 5500, the Veterans’ Credit Protection Act, which would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to establish outreach to veterans who may be subjected to credit reporting due to late or unpaid health care costs. The measure is expected to be debated in the House after Labor Day.
