St. Petersburg, FL – FCCI Insurance Group of Sarasota, Central Florida Health Alliance of Leesburg, Lee County Electric Cooperative of North Ft. Myers, and the School Board of Brevard County are all being honored by AARP and the Society for Human Resource Management as some of the 2013 Best Employers for Workers Over 50.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA) has been recognized by AARP as one of the 50 best employers in the nation for workers over 50. MSHA is the only company in Tennessee to receive the honor this year.
In past decades, workers worked for one company for many years, often for their entire working lives. That is no longer the norm. In fact, the average length of time a worker stays in one job is about 4½ years. Assuming a work life of about 45 years (estimating from 22 to 67 years of age), a worker will have about 10 positions during his or her work life. That fact proves two very important things:

For 61-year-old Ed Pikaart, the journey to Peace Corps service began with a trip to see his nephew, a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger. “I spent two or three weeks with him,” the North Branford, Connecticut resident explained. “That was an amazing experience.”
