Throughout the month, AARP Texas will host a dynamic lineup of events and activities across the state—highlighting the diversity, resilience, and cultural pride that shape our Hispanic heritage here in Texas.
Rodriguez assumes leadership of AARP Texas on Sept. 15 to work on behalf of AARP's 2.5 million Texas members. She will lead staff in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and more than 400 volunteers statewide.
With nearly 2.5 million members in Texas, AARP Texas strengthens communities and advocates for what matters most to older Texans and their families, including health security, financial stability and personal fulfillment.

Lisa Rodriguez, who has led AARP’s work in San Antonio for the past decade, has been named Manager of Outreach and Advocacy for the nationwide nonprofit’s Texas operations. In her new role, Rodriguez will lead a team of seven staff and hundreds of volunteers in communities throughout the state.
