The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers a host of benefits to military veterans. But the system can be difficult to navigate, and many Americans who served their country aren’t getting the benefits they earned.
Nearly 90 percent of Americans want to remain in their homes as they age, and a state law enacted in 2015 makes that a little easier to do.
More than three years since Hurricane Sandy ravaged New Jersey, residents are still battling the fallout, including power companies’ demands to raise rates to repair and upgrade infrastructure. On behalf of consumers, AARP New Jersey is fighting unreasonable rate hikes.
The season of giving may be over, but for too many Americans, getting enough food remains a year-round struggle.

That’s why AARP Vermont is offering Life Reimagined checkups to help Vermonters navigate transitions related to work, relationships and well- being. Through activities and conversations, participants reflect on where they are and where they want to go, and then plan a path to get there.
The New Hampshire Senior Leadership Program, cosponsored by AARP, is ready to train its next class of go-getters who are eager to make a difference on aging issues. Twenty-five participants will be selected based on motivation.
