If you have medications in your home that are no longer needed or expired, AARP Long Island encourages you to dispose of them safely this November.

You can get the latest expert advice on financial literacy, money management, retirement savings, budgeting, estate planning and more right here through our programs, both virtual and in-person. We’re also advocating for you at both the state and local level to make sure you can afford your utilities, prescription drugs and groceries.
In May, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) signed an AARP-backed law that reinstated a moratorium on utility shutoffs and extended it until 180 days after the end of New York’s COVID-19 state of emergency or Dec. 31, whichever is earlier. It covers water, gas and electric utilities, as well as phone, cable and high-speed internet services.
AARP is collaborating with the IndoRican Multicultural Dance Project, a New York City–based group, to promote a series of online classes.
Join AARP NY the last Saturday of each month at 8AM for Real Possibilities, an online radio show that will air on 108 Soul New York and be simulcasted on their Facebook page: @108SoulNY. Guests will discuss a variety of topics that matter most to the 50 plus community.
Secure Choice is a workplace retirement savings option that could help millions of working New Yorkers save for their futures on the job through portable, payroll-deduction Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). The program was enacted into law as part of the 2018-19 New York State Budget and is still in the process of being implemented.
