As we search for glimmers of hope during this difficult time of social distancing, we will be sharing a weekly video series entitled In It Together with inspirational words of encouragement from renowned members of the entertainment industry actors, singers-songwriters and producers created specifically for members and volunteers to help lift their spirits.

AARP New York is the proud sponsor of the next installment of the state legislative forums that are hosted by City & State. The purpose is to hear state lawmakers from across the state outline their legislative and policy priorities for the remainder of the year, working through and around the pandemic, political uncertainty, and more. Specific topics include: Nursing Homes, Long Term Care, and family caregiving; Prescription Drug Affordability; Food Access; Financial Security; and Social Isolation.

Eventually, he was caught and convicted. Now, after serving seven years in prison, Brett works to stop criminal enterprise and consults for the Secret Service and the cybersecurity industry.

As COVID-19 restrictions ease in New York State, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities are preparing to resume in-person visits for families. Visits won’t be the same as before the pandemic, at least until the threat of coronavirus has passed. There may be limits on when, where and for how long you can see loved ones, and distancing rules will likely be in place.

Many New Yorkers are using telemedicine for the first time. The pandemic, however, has underscored the state's disparities with access to health care and broadband internet service, especially in rural areas.
