AARP and AARP Foundation Step In to Keep Older Big Bend
We were thrilled to host our first candidate forum of 2015 in Queens, marking AARP’s first-ever dive into issues advocacy on the local level in New York City. More than 200 New Yorkers engaged in the event and had many questions for the candidates.

AARP is hosting a road show through western Maryland this fall, offering information and fun for members en route. Events include a scenic mountain train trip departing from Cumberland on Oct. 1 and celebrating family caregivers on board.
As the oldest boomers draw close to turning 70, Nebraska lawmakers have called for a plan to help state agencies prepare for more cases of dementia and to identify gaps in services. Already, about 33,000 Nebraskans age 65 and older suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to grow by about 20 percent over the next decade.
