If you want to have fun while making a difference in your community, then volunteering with AARP may be your ticket to an exciting 2015. Your options are many, so we are hosting events where you can pick up information and explore the possibilities by talking with current volunteers over refreshments.
Seniors like Janet and her husband Jim make up 13% of the Alaskans who need a little help with food each month.
Elliott Greenblott of Brattleboro, VT participated in the graduation ceremony for the AARP’s Volunteer Leadership Institute or VLI in Washington, DC in February. He was joined by 32 other exceptional volunteers from all across the country. Richard Harwood, founder and president of the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, was a guest speaker.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation program, is offering Connecticut taxpayers free assistance with basic federal and state income tax returns through April 15, 2015.
