Most older adults hope or plan to age in place in their own homes or communities. However, changes in their health and physical abilities often create a need to look for alternative housing options.
Continuing the efforts to ensure that transportation issues do not prohibit residents from being able to vote in this year’s election, AARP Indiana is sponsoring fare-free rides on the public transit systems in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Gary, and Evansville on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.

This avatar chatbot engages with visitors in nearly any language, providing clear, voice-to-voice responses to questions about voting procedures, who’s on the ballot and more.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are residential living units on the same lot as a single-family or primary dwelling. AARP Iowa is working to expand access to this housing option by championing a statewide ADU law that would give all Iowans the right to build an ADU on their property, reducing unnecessary regulations and red tape.
