As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans—including many older adults—may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

You’ll help us grow the reach of our message and mission, which is to improve the quality of life for people 50 years of age and older, and their families. With your assistance, we can build a local team of AARP volunteers, who will help at discounted events, community service gatherings and at local and state advocacy functions.
