RALEIGH — Longtime AARP volunteer David Sevier of Greensboro was appointed as the new State Director of AARP North Carolina. As President, Sevier is a lead volunteer who helps shape state and local programs and policy agendas for 1.1 million AARP members in the state.

The annual program aims to make communities in North Carolina more livable for people of all ages
The AARP North Carolina Summer Nutrition & Easy Cooking Series is for everyone who wants to make brain health a priority, learn more about brain-healthy foods that are truly tasty, and to find inspiration for easy cooking on a daily basis.
North Carolina lawmakers are once again considering a constitutional amendment that would tie the hands of state budget writers for years to come, greatly impact the state’s credit rating and the ability of our state to pay its bills, and put vital programs for seniors, families and kids at risk.
This week, AARP's “Without Limits” explores the sobering subject of painkiller addiction. Painkiller abuse in the U.S. has been on the rise since the 1980s and their use by older adults is on a steady climb. Along with this rise in painkiller abuse comes an increase in the number of addictions and deaths related to painkillers.
This week AARP North Carolina President Bob Palombo and State Director Doug Dickerson are in Washington, DC, advocating on behalf of AARP members and all older Americans on the crucial issues of family caregiving and Social Security.
