By Kathryn Canavan • Once a week, almost 350 Philadelphia elementary school students show up at churches, nursing facilities and retirement homes where adults are waiting to read with them.
To open doors of opportunity in economically disadvantaged areas, AARP is providing information to help people 40 and older start their own businesses.
Stamp out hunger AARP state offices in Arkansas and Mississippi are working with the U.S. Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers in the annual “Stamp Out Hunger” campaign.
PORTLAND - AARP Foundation together with the New York City Coalition Against Hunger’s Anti-Hunger and Opportunity Corps, will receive VISTA volunteers (VISTAs) to support AARP Foundation’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) outreach and application assistance projects for older adults in Oregon.
